Grounded in the creative and academic ecology of Ho Chi Minh City, VCD Lab engages with the visual cultures of Southeast Asia while maintaining a globally informed design perspective. Projects undertaken by the Lab are treated not merely as commercial commissions but as case studies in applied visual research - each one generating empirical and conceptual knowledge about how form, identity, and narrative function in contemporary visual environments.

VCD Lab was established as a research-practice unit focused on the discipline of Visual Communication Design (VCD) - a field that encompasses the study and production of meaning through visual systems, including typography, identity design, branding, illustration, and multimedia communication.
